Gotoco夏令营合作注意事项
“Do’s and Dont’s” for Gotoco Summer Camp Partners

双方合作的原则是互利共赢,那么学校作为载体,作为灵魂核心,应该怎应协调学生与文化交流生,让双方满意,从而为学校带来持续生源与利益呢?以下是我们根据这几年积累为您总结的“Successful Summer-camp”经验:
Cooperation benefits everyone. How should schools, as the center of the cultural exchange experience, coordinate their native students and cultural exchange participants so that both groups are satisfied? Based on our experience over the years, we have made the following summary of how to achieve a “Successful Summer Camp” experience:
首先,学生的目的是学好英语,那么就需要文化交流生教的好。
学校的目的是盈利,那么就需要有持续的生源以及文化交流生。
文化交流生的目的是教英语与体验中国文化,那么就需要有可靠的学校。
First of all, the aim of the students is to improve their English, so you will need cultural exchange participants with good teaching skills.
The school’s aim is profit, so there will need to be continuous involvement by students and cultural exchange participants.
The aim of the cultural exchange participants is to teach English and experience Chinese culture, so their school needs to be reliable.
给学校提供合适的文化交流生是我们Gotoco的责任,但是学校怎么利用文化交流生从而使学生满意就是学校的责任了。灵魂人物在暑期期间的起着决策性的作用,而文化交流生起着决定性的作用。
It is Gotoco’s responsibility to provide the school with suitable cultural exchange participants, but it is the school’s responsibility to work out how to manage the participants to achieve their goals. Schools play a decisive role during the summer, just as the cultural exchange participants do.

(一)文化交流生来之前:Before the cultural exchange participants arrive at your school
1,面试:请您详细的介绍您的夏令营,学生,班级,您希望以怎样的形式展开(一对一/一对多),是否需要文化交流生自己准备课程,学校是否提供课本等等,也麻烦您介绍一下您夏令营当地的情况,天气,食物等。
Interview: Please introduce in detail your summer camp, students and classes. This includes how you want the cultural exchange participants to teach (one-to-one, one teacher per class, teaching in pairs or groups), whether you need them to prepare before lessons, whether the school offers textbooks, and so on. Please also introduce the local area of your summer camp, giving details such as weather and food.

2,住宿:俗话说,有好的休息才会有好的精神去教学,所以请您在文化交流生来之前就确定好住宿,是住在宾馆还是学生家里?请在面试时与文化交流生进行沟通,如若在夏令营期间,需要换宾馆或者住宿地点,请在面试时征得文化交流生的同意。住宿地点离学校最好控制在20分钟走路时间,大热的夏天,走太久人都没精力教课了呢。
Accommodation: Please arrange accommodation for the cultural exchange participants before they arrive – will it be in a hotel, or in somebody’s home? In the interview, please tell the participants if they will need to change their hotel/accommodation during the summer camp. Please also make sure during the interview that the participants are satisfied with their accommodation arrangements. It is best for accommodation to be within 20 minutes’ walk of the school – in the hot summer, people don’t have too much energy to teach after a long walk.

3,食:请在文化交流生到达学校时,一个一个问清楚文化交流生食物过敏,素食主义等问题。
Food: Before the cultural exchange participants arrive at the school, please ask each of them if they have any food allergies, if they are vegetarian, or if they have any other dietary requirements.

4,行:如果在夏令营期间,学校安排需要在外住宿的旅行,请在面试时提醒文化交流生,或者在出行前几天跟文化交流生商量好,给文化交流生足够的准备时间。
Trips: If the school has arranged a trip away from the school, please discuss this with the cultural exchange participants both during the interview and a few days before the trip. This is so that the cultural exchange participants have enough time to prepare.

(二)文化交流生到来后:When the cultural exchange participants arrive at the school
登记,请一定一定一定在我们的文化交流生到达的24小时之内去警察局做登记!
Registration: Please go to the police station to register within 24 hours of the cultural exchange participants’ arrival!

1,培训Training
我们会安排我们的文化交流生至少提前三天到学校参加学校的培训,请学校充分利用这几天时间
We will schedule at least three days for our cultural exchange participants to have some training before school starts. Please make full use of these days.

a)跟文化交流生交朋友,相互了解,比如在文化交流生坐了十几个甚至二十几个小时的飞机之后,在文化交流生来到时,带他们去一个不错的中国餐厅,跟学校的员工大家一起聚个餐,相互了解一下,学校的热情招待,会大大增加文化交流生的热情与信任。
Make friends with the cultural exchange participants and show them understanding – for example, when they arrive after their long flight (a dozen or maybe even twenty hours), you could take them to a good Chinese restaurant. Having a meal with the school staff, getting to know them and feeling welcomed will greatly increase the participants’ enthusiasm and trust.
b)建议您在文化交流生提前到的这几天,给文化交流生一定质量的培训,文化交流生很多都没有经验,我们的TEFL培训只是理论培训,您的实战培训会给您的暑期带来意想不到的结果。
We suggest you give the cultural exchange participants a certain quality of training during their first few days. The participants have no experience of teaching, and our TEFL training is only theoretical training. Training the participants will bring surprising results for your summer camp!
c)请在文化交流生到达时给他们介绍他们的中文老师,生活老师以及上课助理。
Please tell the cultural exchange participants about their Chinese teacher, supervising teacher and class assistant when they arrive.
d) 请学校跟文化交流生沟通夏令营期间上课迟到问题。
Please communicate with the cultural exchange participants about the consequences of being late for classes.

2,宣传Publicity
如果需要文化交流生到来时帮忙做宣传,请在面试时告诉文化交流生,我们不反对学校利用文化交流生来招生,但是请不要一个星期都在招生,文化交流生是来帮您教学生英语的,不是来帮您招生的。文化交流生非常激动开始暑期教学,在筋疲力尽的长时间飞行之后,如果再帮您做一个星期的宣传,那么,他们的热情已经大大消减。
If you need the cultural exchange participants to help with publicity, please tell them in their interview. We do not oppose making the participants do publicity, but please do not spend a whole week doing this. The participants are here to help you teach your students English, rather than to help getting people enrolled at the school. The cultural exchange participants are very excited to start their teaching program this summer – after a long and exhausting flight, their enthusiasm will drop considerably if they have to start off with a week of publicity.

3,上课Class
a)文化交流生每天工作时间不超过6个小时,这6个小时包含教课和备课时间。在不教课期间,文化交流生有权利回去休息或者做自己的事情。
Cultural exchange participants should work for no more than 6 hours a day – these 6 hours include lessons and lesson preparation time. When they are not teaching, the participants have the right to go back to their accommodation to rest, or do their own things.
b)学校可以建议文化交流生教学方法,但不要强制。
Schools can recommend teaching methods to the cultural exchange participants, but do not force them to use particular methods.

4,休息Rest
a)休息时间文化交流生有绝对的自由做自己想做的事情,比如买东西,逛街,见朋友。学校不可以24小时监督和约束文化交流生人身自由。学校可以教授文化交流生中文来方便他们的日常交流。
During their rest time, the cultural exchange participants have absolute freedom to do whatever they want to do, such as shopping and seeing friends. Schools cannot supervise and constrain them 24 hours a day. Schools can also teach the participants Chinese to help them with daily communication.

5,其他注意事项Other matters needing attention
a) 种族歧视,性别歧视,性骚扰
racial discrimination, sexual discrimination, sexual harassment

种族歧视的严重性咱们就不用多说了,这在国外是犯法的呢!咱们作为中国人里国际化的代表,要教给咱们的孩子真正的国外文化哦,即在美国,非白人比例为30%,在英国,非白人比例是25%,所以,咱们的文化交流生不100%是白人,而且只有接触并且能跟各种颜色的人交朋友的小朋友才称得上是国际化的未来小主人呢!奥巴马总统还是黑人呢!
We do not have to say much about the severity of racial discrimination, other than the fact that it is illegal in foreign countries! As internationalized representatives of China, we need to teach our children about real foreign culture. In the United States, 30% of the population is non-white, and in the UK, this figure is 25%. Our cultural exchange participants will therefore not all be white – and only those children who can connect and make friends will all kinds of people will be able to succeed internationally in the future!

性别歧视大家也都深有感触,尽量避免吧!
Please try to avoid sexual discrimination – we all have strong feelings about this!

性骚扰,这在中国也属于犯法,所以大家一定要齐力监督!如若发生,我们会不遗余力的让犯法者承担相应的责罚。
Sexual harassment is also an offence in China, so we must make sure that this is observed. If any sexual harassment occurs, we will make absolutely sure that the offender is punished accordingly.

b)文化交流生们漂洋过海来教英语,如果您没有足够的学生,不是他们的错哦,所以你不可以不经过他们的同意就安排他们做其他的事儿,比如大理让他们去咖啡馆工作,西平每天给他们20分钟教课等,在这种情况下,您属于违约,我方有权利安排文化交流生到其他学校 。
Cultural exchange participants travel abroad to teach English. If you do not have enough students, this is not their fault – so you cannot arrange for them to do other things which they have not agreed to, such as working in a café in Dali or teaching lessons for 20 minutes a day in Xiping. If this is the case, you are breaching the contract, and we have the right to send the cultural exchange participants to other schools.

c) 学校如果需要安排文化交流生去学生家里住或者送他们去别的学校,请在文化交流生来之前就跟文化交流生沟通好,否则,文化交流生有权利不接受。比如:汕头学校把文化交流生分成两个组,一组留在面试学校,另外一组被送去别的学校。学校以这种方式挣钱是不允许的,如果学校想变成中介帮着其他学校找文化交流生,请提前告诉我们,要知道,只要提前沟通好,一般情况下文化交流生是很愿意去别的学校的。
If you will need the cultural exchange participants to go and stay in someone else’s home or be sent to other schools, please communicate this to them before they arrive at your school – otherwise, the participants have the right not to accept. For example, a school in Shantou divided cultural exchange participants into two groups, with one group staying at the interview school and the other being sent to other schools. The school is not allowed to make money in this way. If the school would like to become an intermediary to help other schools find cultural exchange participants, please tell us in advance. As long as you communicate well with the participants in advance, they are generally very willing to go to other schools.

d) 如若学生家长投诉,请学校一定好好处理,而不是以粗鲁的方式告诉文化交流生让文化交流生自己去解决。文化差异,文化交流生不是处理家长投诉的最好人选。惠州学校家长投诉孩子英语阅读理解没提高(学校中教教的),学校把责任都推到我们教英语口语的文化交流生身上了。
The school must deal with parents’ complaints, rather than tell the cultural exchange participants to solve them. Due to cultural differences, the cultural exchange participants are not the best people to deal with parents’ complaints. For example, parents of some Huizhou School students complained that the children’s English reading abilities had not improved after their teaching, and the school passed the responsibility on to the cultural exchange participants who had taught oral English.

e) 希望学校应该安排一个24小时文化交流生都可以联系到的会说英语的工作人员,以防不时之需。南昌学校文化交流生被锁门外,因为联系不上任何人,在大街上睡了一夜。
It is necessary for the school to have an English-speaking member of staff who can be reached at any time. This is in case the cultural exchange participants need help. One cultural exchange participant once had to sleep on the street for a night because he could not get in touch with anyone and was locked outside Nanchang School.

f)Gotoco作为一个平台,我们的工作是招募文化交流生并且帮着学校跟文化交流生取得联系,我们也会在文化交流生工作完成后给他们一个星期的旅游。但是从文化交流生买完机票与学校取得联系之后,理论上说Gotoco就没有任何责任了,学校负责与文化交流生进行沟通,解答他们有关当地文化习俗以及有关学校的任何问题。文化交流生在学校的整个期间,Gotoco会与文化交流生保持联系,在必要时也会帮忙解决问题,但是理论上Gotoco没有任何责任帮着学校管理相关事宜。
Gotoco’s role is to recruit cultural exchange participants and help schools to make contact with them. We also offer the cultural exchange participants a week of sightseeing after they have finished working at the summer camps. After the participants have bought their flight tickets and have made contact with your school, you will need to take direct charge of them. They will ask you for information about the local culture and about the school. Gotoco will always keep in touch with the participants and is willing to help when needed – but theoretically speaking, we have no duty to help schools manage their cultural exchange participants.

g)项目结束以后,学校必须按合同付给Gotoco所有相关费用。如在合作结束以后,学校为了寻求折扣而抱怨暑期过程中的问题,是不可接受的,如果需要帮助,请在问题出现时及时跟我们沟通。
Your school must pay commission to Gotoco according to our contract after the program is finished. If you have any problems during the summer camp, please contact us in good time. We will not accept any discount based on past problems.

Gotoco不会帮助学校付学校的税,因为我们也要交税呢,我们也不会要学校帮着Gotoco付公司税。
Gotoco believes that both parties should pay their tax separately. We will pay our tax ourselves – please pay your tax by yourself.

Gotoco的佣金费用是按每30天计算,比如6月30到7月30。如果在这期间,文化交流生因为生病有一天没上课,这不是Gotoco的错,属于不可控因素,所以扣除Gotoco佣金是不可接受的。
Gotoco’s commission fee is calculated every 30 days, such as from June 30 to July 30. If during this period the cultural exchange participants are sick for a day and cannot come to class, deducting this from Gotoco’s commission is not acceptable as this is out of Gotoco’s control.

h)如果在面试过程中或者沟通过程中,学校同意文化交流生晚到一天或者几天,那么,这不是Gotoco的责任哦,Gotoco不会为文化交流生的晚到买单的。
If your school tells the cultural exchange participants during the interviews that they are allowed to arrive one or more days late, Gotoco cannot take responsibility for late arrival of the participants.

i)建议学校不要承诺的太多哦,汕头学校说会有一个星期的培训,最后没有发生。庐山学校说文化交流生会住在五星级酒店,最后去把文化交流生安排在宿舍里,这种情况下,是会让文化交流生感觉非常不开心的。承诺的少,做得多才是硬道理!
It is better not to promise too much. Shantou School promised to have one week of training for the cultural exchange participants, which did not actually happen during the program. Lushan School said they would offer the cultural exchange participants accommodation in a five-star hotel but ended up giving them accommodation in a school dormitory. The cultural exchange participants will be upset in these kinds of situations – so it’s better to promise less and do more.
