Please you us about some of your most enjoyable moments of the trip?

Terracotta Warriors, out trip to the mountains, and Yangshuo-

Which were the highlights of the lessons, cultural excursions and outdoor activities?

I received no lessons, nor cultural excursions. The trip to the mountain was the only outdoor activity.
If by lessons you mean the lessons I taught, the highlight was when you felt that the kids were learning but having fun at the same time.

How would you say the overall experience has benefited you?

It has taught me a lot about Chinese culture overall, but also about working cross-culturally and how to be flexible.

What was the best thing about your experience in China?

Experiencing China not only as a tourist.

Would you recommend participating to a friend and if so why?

I would hesitate to recommend it. If I did recommend it, it would be with a disclaimer. The programme sounds a bit too good to be true, which would also turn out to be the case at times. It truly is an amazing opportunity to experience China, but the experience itself is not necessarily good at all times. This might only apply to my experience in Xian, but it was poorly organized and you were often treated as a money cow because we weren't getting paid, and at the same time making a lot of money for the agency, but getting little appreciation and regard as a person. I do appreciate that some of this is due to cultural differences, but perhaps gotoco could work with their partners on how to work with foreigners better.
