Join our short-term Vietnam Teaching Programme to get teaching experience and gain a TEFL/TESOL certificate. Along the way, experience a fascinating new culture and language, and gain valuable qualifications and skills, all while enjoying delicious food!

We are delighted to invite you join us in Vietnam for TESOL/TEFL training alongside a teaching internship, that includes Vietnamese language and culture lessons and activities. And it’s funded! That includes funding for flights, teacher training, accommodation and meals. This is a short programme that lasts two months, with TEFL/TESOL training continuing on your return home.

What do you get?

Our short-term Vietnam Teaching Programme is your launchpad for a global and impactful career. On the programme, you will receive:

Funding to cover your flights, meals, accommodation, teaching placement and training
TESOL/TEFL training and certification
Placement in a supportive school in rural, suburban or small town Vietnam for 6-8 weeks
Vietnamese language and culture lessons and activities
Professional development training
Personal and community support, including 24/7 support for emergencies.

What does the programme involve?

You will be teaching English to local Vietnamese students, usually in an English training centre or summer camp.
You will be in a smaller town or rural area to give you a chance to be immersed in local culture, with at least two other Gotoco’ers and continuous community support from our team.
You will have funding to cover your meals, accommodation, flights, and your training.
You will receive continuous professional development to support you in your teaching and with your future career plans.

How do you apply?

To apply you need to:

Completed high school/A-level/college
Be an advanced level English speaker, e.g a native speaker or otherwise have native-level English.
Have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for full Trinity CertTESOL funding (through citizenship, residency, leave to remain, student visas, et al.)*
Have a clear criminal record
Be available and excited to travel to Vietnam!
Holding a prior TEFL certificate is a bonus, but not required; Trinity CertTESOL training and certification is provided

This programme is ideal for recent graduates from UK universities that want to explore building a life as a teacher abroad, but is open to anyone, including mid-career changers, college grads and those from ‘non-traditional’ educational backgrounds. There is extra support available for applicants from widening participation backgrounds, including all funding you may need to make this happen. You will be able to indicate if this applies to you on your application form.

*We can consider candidates with non-UK university backgrounds and those who do not have the right to work in the UK, but they would not always be eligible for full funding for the Trinity CertTESOL and flights.
