Could you share some of your most enjoyable moments of the trip?

One of the most enjoyable moments was when I realised the kids in my class were already comfortable around me. It was very satisfying, since the first few days were a bit more complicated as they were not enjoying my lessons because they were shy. They used to bring me presents after being at home for the weekend and that was very kind of them. It is difficult to pick specific moments of my trip because they were all amazing. The group and bound we had with the rest of teachers was very good as well and I think I made friends for life. It was an amazing experience in general.

Which were the highlights of the lessons, cultural excursions and outdoor activities?

The highlights of the lessons were realising that the kids were actually learning from what I was teaching and seeing them enjoying my lessons was gratifying too. Every outdoor activity was good. The bound with the other teachers made the experience a lot better, since we enjoyed every moment of the trip. The outdoor activities with the kids were fun as well.

How would you say the overall experience has benefited you?

I have learnt from the Chinese culture. I have learnt how to manage a class with over 30 students. It has helped me to live in a different country with such a big cultural difference. I have made friends for life.

What was the best thing about your experience in China?

There is not one single best thing about the experience – everything was amazing. For me the best thing was the whole experience. From my time in the class with the kids to the time I had with the rest of the teachers.

Would you recommend participating to a friend and if so why?

I would 100% recommend the experience to a friend and anyone. It is a truly enriching experience.
