Carys John joined our projects at LAN International Scouting Camp in Qingdao in summer 2017. Read on to view their feedback:

Could you share some of your most enjoyable moments of the trip?

I worked with an excellent team of teachers and had the chance to explore a corner of the world I’d never before seen.

Which were the highlights of the lessons, cultural excursions and outdoor activities?

Teaching demands that you show initiative and I enjoyed cultivating this skill. I also gained a lot of satisfaction from seeing how my class’ respect for me and their behaviour improved over the time period.

How would you say the overall experience has benefited you?

I have become better at thinking on my feet and standing in front of a class every day has improved my confidence.

What was the best thing about your experience in China?

Gotoco was the starting block for my trip in China. It gave the chance to get to grips with a new culture before I set off on my travels alone.

Would you recommend participating to a friend and if so why?

I would recommend Gotoco. The Gotoco staff are friendly and work hard to give everyone the best experience possible.
