Feedback Leisan Garifullina

Leisan Garifullina joined our projects in Winnerway Foreign Language School
Please you us about some of your most enjoyable moments of the trip?

My kids in the 3 classes I taught were awesome 🙂 I am keeping it touch with some of them.
I liked our Chinese lessons and how the teacher listened to our feedback.
Being in the center of Dongguan and exploring the city.
Yangshuo trips were cool also. I would say I have done a lot of different things in my life, but Yangshuo was unforgettable.

Restaurants that we were brought to by school coordinators were superb 🙂

Which were the highlights of the lessons, cultural excursions and outdoor activities?

Lessons – my kids and how they learned. Overcoming challenges of calming them down and getting their attentions were the best (they were 6-7 years old)
Cultural excursions – we had none (one school day trip to the farm doesn't count, as it was mainly for the kids). Weekend trips that were organized by the school weren't selected and organized well. My friend (full-time teacher) and I had to organize our leisure by ourselves at our own cost.
Outdoor activities – in Yangshuo weren't that cheap, but very cool. Will remember them forever:) Monkeyjane is one of the best business women I have ever seen. Glad I met her and that we stayed in her hostel.

How would you say the overall experience has benefited you?

I learned a lot about China and its people from full time teachers, our TEFL refresher guy named Wesley, faculty and random strangers in China and from my weekend trips that we organized. I learned how to be extremely flexible and not being puzzled by a change in the last minute. It was very beneficial to learn about career in ESL and others in China.
I definitely improved my public speaking skills, which I wanted to do for quite a long time 🙂 Dream do come true!
I learned a bit of Chinese to communicate and improved my higgling skills in markets. I made SO MANY friends 🙂
I rediscovered East Asia for myself and saw places I wouldn't mind living in in the future.
I learned how to teach, and teach well, so parents of the kids in my class contacted me and showed off the progress of their kids after the project. I learned how to be professional in what I do from our TEFL refresher.

Honestly, I had multiple fully-funded trips in many countries around the world so far, and this one is one the most beneficial to me in terms of learning.

What was the best thing about your experience in China?

Learning about the people, their culture, their language and business opportunities.

Would you recommend participating to a friend and if so why?

Definitely. I loved it and would recommend! Great experience to broaden the horizons 🙂
