What does the programme involve?

This programme offers you an introduction to teaching abroad. You will gain knowledge and experience in teaching through one-on-one conversations and group activities, while studying towards a TEFL or TESOL certificate. During the programme you will:

Please note that this programme gives you teaching experience through leading games and conversational activities, rather than formal classroom teaching. This is a chance to develop your teaching skills while having lots of fun.

Why Poland?

Our programme in Poland was one of our best reviewed in 2022. Participants consistently told us that they knew very little about Poland before joining and found the country fascinating and now can’t wait to return.

Poland is one of the lesser travelled destinations in Europe for Brits, and it’s a hidden gem. Poland offers interesting cultural and historical sites, beautiful scenery and surprisingly warm weather, which is great on a summer camp!

This programme is also a brilliant opportunity to discover the culture of one of the biggest diasporas in the UK: there are around 696,000 Poles in the UK and conversations with the teenagers on these camps are a great window into their culture.

Poland is also the gateway to Eastern Europe with great transport connections for onward travel with an Interrail pass. You can head down towards the Balkans through countries such as Slovenia and Croatia to reach Greece, or you could head West into Germany and explore the Swiss alps.

Poland is also worth travelling around by itself, from the Baltic Sea in Gdansk, to the bustling capital of Warsaw, down to the centre of Polish culture in Krakow and into the southern mountain ranges around Zakopane. Poland has everything you need! Due to Poland being a hidden gem, it is also on the cheaper side for a European nation. You can experience everything Poland has to offer on a limited budget.

We offer support and advice from a team that includes both experienced travellers and qualified teachers, on top of the support that is offered by the camp you join. You can also count us to do our best to provide an authentic Polish experience. Spending this much time with students and the local coordinators will give you the opportunity to learn more about Polish culture, while developing your teaching skills.

Don't just take our word for it...

How can you secure funding?

Why Interrail?

Interrailing allows you to traverse the continent on your way to and from your summer camp. Turn your summer work experience into a real adventure.

If you are on your university funding and meet your university’s widening participation criteria, then you will also receive funding towards your travel.
