This programme offers you an introduction to teaching abroad. You will gain knowledge and experience in teaching through leading lessons and activities on a summer camp, while studying towards a TEFL certificate. During the programme you will:
Please note that this programme is a summer camp, so your teaching experience will mainly focus on leading games and activities in English, rather than formal classroom teaching. Learning through fun and content-language integrated learning are a very important part of TEFL. This is a chance to develop your teaching skills while having lots of fun.
Our programme in Romania gives you the opportunity to try out teaching in a fun summer camp environment, with tourism trips included.
Romania is a hidden gem for travel. While. your focus during the programme will be on teaching and the summer camps, you will also get to explore and see Romania, and start a summer of backpacking, especially if you interrail! During this programme, you will visit:
We offer support and advice from a team that includes both experienced travellers and qualified teachers, on top of the support that is offered by the camp you join. You can also count us to do our best to provide an authentic Romanian experience. Spending this much time with students and the local coordinators will give you the opportunity to learn more about Romanian culture, while developing your teaching skills

Turn your summer teaching experience into a real adventure!
Interrailing allows you to traverse the continent on your way to and from your summer camp. You’ll see beautiful and interesting towns and countryside, and meet lots of others backpacking their way around Europe.
If you are on your university funding and meet your university’s widening participation criteria, then you may also receive funding towards your travel.

We will then speak with our partners across Europe and invite you to interview with the right camp for you. Some camps will require you to complete a pre-interview task as well to help them to get to know you better.
Please note that team selection is a competitive process with our European partners and selections are made based on a range of factors, including a balance of skills and experience within a team. This means that your first choice cannot be guaranteed, but we will work with our partners to match you to one of your top five choices, and all of our camps will provide you with valuable teaching experience, the chance to backpack across Europe, and the opportunity to immerse yourself in a local culture.
