Could you please tell us about some of your most enjoyable moments of the trip?

The memories and friendships I created during the trip will stay with me for the rest of my life. The mementos left to me from my students, the songs we sang together, always bring me a moment of joy.

Which were the highlights of the lessons, cultural excursions and outdoor activities?

The beautiful scenery of Shantou, the lotus fields, and the swimming activities are amazing memories in my trip. Yangshuo at the end of the trip also gave me one of the most breathtaking views I’ve experienced.

How would you say the overall experience has benefited you?

It opened up my mind to a completely different culture and way of living. Chatting to the other Chinese teachers in the school was always an eye-opening experience in what they were willing to share and compare to our culture.

What was the best thing about your experience in China?

The possibility to talk and share experiences with students from the school.

Would you recommend participating to a friend and if so why?

It challenges everyone in different ways, it gives you amazing opportunities to spend your summer in a completely different culture, and it makes you understand your own culture better through explaining it to new people.
