Nabeel Hussain joined our projects at Yangzhou Global IELTS in the summer of 2017. Please read on to view their feedback:
Could you please tell us about some of your most enjoyable moments of the trip?
The most enjoyable moments were when we went travelling to other places in China. The best place was Huangshan (Yellow mountain), as the views were spectacular. Other highlights included Suzhou and Nanjing, as there were many great things to see, and the prices were low.
Which were the highlights of the lessons, cultural excursions and outdoor activities?
Lessons: Having small classes with my favourite teachers, as we shared interests, so both learnt interesting things.
Outdoor activities: Travelling to Huangshan to see the Yellow Mountain, specifically the sunset from a high peak.
How would you say the overall experience has benefited you?
I have experienced a new culture, seen some amazing things, and improved my teaching skills. My general confidence in travelling has improved as it is very challenging in a foreign environment, where English is spoken very little and many useful websites (like Google Maps) are blocked. Overcoming the language barrier was a big challenge.
What was the best thing about your experience in China?
The best thing about the experience was seeing the Yellow Mountain. We saw some incredible views. It was not hot up there. It was different to our usual trips. Photography opportunities were great. The sunrise and sunset were great to see. Although it was a challenge, it was definitely worth doing. Plus, it was quite cheap.
